No, adherence to the curriculum with exact fidelity is not mandatory. We recognize the unique challenges library teachers face; therefore, the curriculum is designed for flexibility. It offers a general framework that does not necessarily have to be followed sequentially or by specific grade levels. You’re encouraged to adapt lessons to better suit different grade levels, times of the year, or needs, aiming to provide students with foundational learning experiences centered around real-world themes.

The curriculum is continuously updated throughout the year. We use lesson ratings and feedback to regularly refresh the content. Additionally, we introduce new limelight lessons on a weekly basis. When a lesson is retired, it will be archived but remain accessible through the lesson gallery.

Our lesson books are well-reviewed, highly regarded, and published within the last five years. You can find these titles in your school library, at your local library, or purchase them through the links provided on the lesson pages.

No. Distributing the curriculum to non-paying members violates our terms of use and copyright laws.

As an organization that serves schools across the country, lessons are currently aligned with AASL Learning Outcomes for students. For an additional fee, we are able to offer alignments with additional educational standards.

Yes, we have had several requests for this and are planning to launch a PK curriculum in the future.

To upgrade your membership, go to ‘Profile’ from the dropdown menu under your profile picture in the top right, select ‘Upgrade my Membership’.

Absolutely! LIRA’s Educator Community remains open to educators even after subscription cancellations. To continue your participation, just go to the upper right corner of the screen and click on your profile icon. Then, select ‘Profile’, followed by ‘Membership’, and ‘Subscription’. Finally, choose ‘Change Plan’ to adjust your subscription status.
